Gudrun Sallaberger-Plakolb
Basel, Switzerland
Having started my creative journey 2001 in Sweden, I have constantly expanded my repertoire of techniques. Working with oils, pastels, water-color, and mixed media. I express my emotions, mood, and the atmosphere I am surrounded by - this results in changing themes in my works. I received my art degree from the Art Academie-Noord in Brasschaat, Belgium. Moving to Switzerland in 2011. From 2011 until 2023 I co-run an art collective in Basel, called "frontofbicycle" If you are interested in my work or participating at an art workshop please contact me.
Materials & Techniques
Mostly using handmade Unison soft pastels on Clairefontaine pastelmat board. Oilpaintings are on stretched Canvas.
“Don't think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it's good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art.”
— Andy Warhol
The Process
I am a Basel-based artist working primarily in soft pastels. My work explores the beauty found in everyday subjects, drawing inspiration from nature, colour, and light. Each piece is created with meticulous attention to detail, capturing fleeting moments of beauty.
